Best Microphone For Streaming

If your microphone is bad quality, nobody is going to listen to you talk when you stream. Your sound quality is more important than your visuals, so what are the best microphones for Twitch streamers?

Let’s face it… bad sound on your stream is going to get that person to click the back button quicker than you can say “wow you can barely hear what they are even saying”.

USB Microphones for Twitch streamers

The easiest way and the cheapest way to start recording your voice is through UBS microphones. Being able to directly plug them in with nothing else required is going to be the starter kit you need.

XLR Microphones for Streamers

  • Audio-Technica 2020
  • Shure SM-27-SC
  • Blue Ember − A microphone build for live streamers and streaming by crowd-favourites Blue.
  • Rode NT1-A − I actually used this microphone for years recording singing vocals, the level of detail you could pick up was outstanding and is the dream microphone for podcasting.
  • Audio-Technica AT2035
  • Shure SM-27-SC
  • Rode Procaster
  • Shure Super 55 − Used primarily for on-stage performances. But if you have a big budget and are looking for something that looks a bit different but sounds incredible… this is the microphone for you!
  • Audio-Technica AT2021
  • AKG P120

I’m personally using a microphone designed for drum and acoustic guitar recording (LOL) because my Rode NT1-A broke as I started streaming… while it proves you can use nearly any microphone

Headsets for Streamers

While you can use the microphone on your headset, I do not personally recommend it. Typically the audio quality is poor and designed for casual gaming between friends…

Unfortunately, for those watching it doesn’t create the best audio experience for the viewers.
